Dr. Barbara Toner, of Covington, GA, Passed away November 17, 2021. She was a Clinical Psychologist, Educator and Mentor. She retired from Troy University where she was a professor for 15 years. She was an active member of Corydell community. Barbara received her Doctorate from Antioch New England. Barbara has always encouraged her students to be more and do more than they thought possible. She was always willing to help a friend or neighbor. She had a long and distinguished career serving many people from many places over the years. She brightened the day for anyone she could.
She is survived by her daughters, Sherrill Toner and Deborah Foley; grandchildren, Walter John Toner IV, and Jaguar Foley; one great-granddaughter, Marcela Toner, one Grand-daughter-in-law, Georgia Walters Toner; and her Son of the Heart, John Lumpkin. She had a tremendous impact on everyone she met.
In lieu of flowers she would like donations made to either the "Toner Traumatic Brain Injury Endowment Fund" at SUNY Plattsburgh or the "Troy University Barbara Toner Non-Traditional Student Scholarship." A Celebration of Life for Barbara will be held Saturday, April 9, 2022, at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, starting at 11AM. Barbara's message to all of you is "Always remember, You Are Loved!"
