Duane D. “Anne” Edgemon, of Porterdale, passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at the age of 85. Mrs. Edgemon was a resident of Newton County resident for 14 years where she lived in Porterdale since 2008. She had a strong work ethic being a nurse’s assistant at various nursing homes. Mrs. Edgemon was musically inclined and could play over six different instruments. In her free time, she liked crocheting making hats and scarves as gifts, cooking, and tending to her flower garden. Mrs. Edgemon loved the Lord and enjoyed worshiping with her son and daughter-in-law. She was preceded in death by her husband, James D. Edgemon; son, Randall Huff; parents, Marshall Lee and Ruby Adams; sisters, Barbara Coffey, Mary Lane Christian; two infant sisters, Patricia Dunevant, Audrey Lane Adams; and brother, Llyod Adams.
Survivors include her son, John Huff (Esther); Lisa Wilson; daughter-in-law, Marla Huff; grandchildren, Lori Cain, Travis Huff, Josie Huff, Carl Huff, Albert Huff; great-grandchildren, Jack Huff, Noah Huff, Judah Huff, Presley Huff, Luke Huff, John Mark Mitchell, Antonia Mitchell; two brother, Arthur Adams, Ray Adams; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service for Mrs. Edgemon will be held Thursday, December 8, 2022, 11:00 A.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Pastor John Huff and Esther Huff officiating and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home, prior to her service, from 9:30 – 11:00 A.M.
