Edward "Ed" Wallace

Edward "Ed" Wallace of Venice, Florida, passed away July 28, 2011, at the age of 85. Mr. Wallace served in the U.S. Navy as Gunner's Mate on the USS Kilauea. He was a member of South Venice Baptist Church, and former Assistant Fire Chief of the South Venice Volunteer Fire Department. He was liked by all who knew him, and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Mr. Wallace was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Zee (Whiddon) Wallace. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Ouida Lynch Wallace of Covington, GA; daughters and son-in-law, Seri and Donald Witmer of Wakarusa, IN, Carla Wallace Young of Covington, GA; 4 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; brothers, Gilbert Wallace of Winter Haven, FL, Sanford Wallace of Bartow, FL; several nieces and nephews.Funeral Services for Mr. Wallace will be held Monday, August 1, 2011, 1:00 PM, at South Venice Baptist Church, 3167 Englewood Road, Venice, Florida, with Pastor Allan L. Mitchell officiating. Interment will be held Tuesday, August 2, in Oaklawn Cemetery, in Winter Haven, Florida. The family will receive friends at Farley Funeral Home, in Venice, on Sunday, July 31, from 3-5 PM.
