Elaine Brown

Elaine Brown of Newborn, passed away May 29, 2012, at the age of 97. Mrs. Brown was the oldest member of Newborn United Methodist Church, having been a member for approximately 75 years. She enjoyed sewing, reading, flower gardening, crafts, and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Augustus Brown; parents, William Burton and Edna (Lawson) Johnson; daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Bobby Rowland; 2 brothers and 1 sister.Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Sandra B. and Dan Hayes of Covington; sons and daughters-in-law, Burton and Dianne Brown of Gainesville, Bruce and Karen Brown of Mississippi, Ricky and Robin Brown of Forsyth; 15 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, step-great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.A Celebration of Life for Mrs. Brown will be held Friday, June 1, 2012, 11:00 AM, at Newborn United Methodist Church, with Rev. CeCe Nickolich officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Newborn United Methodist Church, 118 Church Street, Newborn, GA 30056; or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital - Memorial Honor Program, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
