Elaine Farmer

Elaine Farmer, of Social Circle, passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at the age of 76. A devoted wife of 55 years, Mrs. Farmer loved being a homemaker and loved her husband and children. After her youngest child was in school, she decided to work in the school system as a Paraprofessional for 26 years. Mrs. Farmer also taught Sunday School, was the church historian, played the piano, and sang in the choir at her church. She was strong in her faith and enjoyed reading her Bible. In her spare time, Mrs. Farmer enjoyed doing home projects, sewing, and watching her grandchildren play sports and participating in their activities. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Farmer, Jr.; parents, Charles and Saleta Ricks; and brother, Dorsey Ricks.

Survivors include her children, Dedi Farmer, Timmy and Melissa Farmer, Joanna and Corey Holcombe; grandchildren, Abigail Moss, Jacob Farmer, Becca Moss, Eli Farmer, Hannah Holcombe, Caleb Holcombe, Hudson Holcombe; great-grandchildren, Alyssa Slaughter, Lindsey Moss, Tia Moss; as well as siblings, Coleman and Pat Ricks, Larry and Sheila Ricks, Helen Ricks.

A Funeral Service for Mrs. Farmer will be held Saturday, April 15, 2023, 11:00 A.M., at the Social Circle First Baptist Church Chapel, 195 N Cherokee Road, in Social Circle, with Pastor Willburn Hill officiating and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park, in Covington. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home, Friday, April 14, from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M.
