Elizabeth Poole Stephenson

Elizabeth Poole Stephenson, of Social Circle, passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at the age of 85. Mrs. Stephenson was a member of First Baptist Church of Social Circle where she attended Faith Sunday School Classes. In addition, she was a member of Deerelicts (John Deere Retirees), Covington Elkadettes, The Red Hat Society, and Social Circle Garden Club. In her spare time, Mrs. Stephenson enjoyed bird watching and antiquing. She was a wildflower enthusiast and loved gardening. Mrs. Stephenson was also very crafty and liked to make ceramics, crochet, and macrame. She was an accomplished cook and made the best homemade tacos. Mrs. Stephenson loved her family dearly and cherished the time spent with them. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Lewis Stephenson, Sr.; daughters, Tanya Stephenson Connaughton, Sonya Tuck; grandson, Tyler Stephenson; sister, Dorothy Tanner; and brother, Larry Poole.

Survivors include her son, Lewis Stephenson (Randi); grandchildren, Tiffany Lynch (David), Ryan DeLoach (Alex), Christy Gainey, Caitlin Tuck, Megan Pallay (Peyton); great-grandchildren, Christopher Edmondson, Ethan Lynch, Madeline DeLoach, Paisley Edmondson, Zeppelin DeLoach, Emily Lynch, Titan Gainey, Atlas Gainey; as well as sister, Betty Underwood.

A Funeral Service for Mrs. Stephenson will be held Saturday, September 23, 2023, 11:00 A.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Rev. Mike Hardy and Sr. Adult Pastor Kale Rush officiating and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home, Friday, September 22, from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M.
