Ellis Adams

Ellis Adams of Porterdale, passed away Sunday, January 21, 2018, at the age of 91. Mr. Adams was a lifelong resident of Porterdale and active member of Julia A. Porter Methodist Church. He was married to Helen -the love of his life- for 70 years. Mr. Adams enjoyed sports of any kind, especially playing golf, and was an enthusiastic Georgia Tech fan. His tendency to offer advice to others was often well-received due to his own level of compassion, generosity, and integrity. Mr. Adams was affectionately known as "King of the Krystal Breakfast Club". He was preceded in death by his parents, John Carol and Ida Corene Adams; and brother, Lewis Adams.

Survivors include his devoted wife, Helen Adams; daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Benny Higginbotham of Porterdale; grandson, Shane and Mandy Higginbotham of Covington; great-grandchildren, Macie, Cole, Max, Caroline, and Amelia; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Funeral Service for Mr. Adams will be held Tuesday, January 23, 2018, 2:00 PM, at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington with Bill Norton, Doug Doster, and Dud Childers officiating. Interment will follow in Lawnwood Memorial Park, in Covington. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Monday, January 22, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Julia A. Porter United Methodist Church,3 Cotton Street, P.O. Box 700, Porterdale, GA 30070.
