Access RoadElmer Joe Day of Covington passed away May 7, 2012, at the age of 71. He was a member of County Line Baptist Church, in Covington. E.J. was a long-time resident of Newton County, and well respected businessman of E.J. Day Stucco, Inc. E.J. not only left behind a legacy of truth, honor, and love; but showed all he met how to live life to the fullest. He loved to laugh, make new friends, and always enjoyed playing with his grandchildren. E.J. will be missed greatly, but his memory will love on for generations to come. Survivors include his loving wife, Patricia A. Day; daughter, K. Elaine Askew; son, Jeffrey P. Day; 4 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren. A Graveside service for E.J. will be held Thursday, May 10, 2012, 11:00 AM, at Lawnwood Memorial Park, in Covington, with Rev. J. Clifton Brown officiating. The family will receive friends at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, Wednesday, May 9, from 5:00-7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to County Line Baptist Church, 3325 Highway 162 S, Covington, GA 30016.
