Elva Devore

Elva DeVore of Covington, passed away April 1, 2011, at the age of 73. Ms. DeVore was employed by Food Depot and Food Giant for 30 years. She was a hard worker, had a great sense of humor, and loved spending time at the beach. Ms. DeVore was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother, who enjoyed her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Irl Woodard; and her parents, Virgil L. and Nettie Louise (Massey) DeVore. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and David Cheshire of LaGrange; son, Jimmy Woodard of Covington; grandchildren, Tonya Oakley, Lindsay Woodard, Shaun Chaplin, Malissa Pike; great-grandchildren, Courtney Oakley, Grace Pike, Noah Pike, Isaac Pike. A Memorial Service for Ms. DeVore will be held Monday, April 4, 2011, 7:00 PM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Monday, from 6-7 PM. Flowers are accepted, or donations may be made to the American Lung Association, 2452 Spring Road, Smyrna, GA 30080.
