Esther Louise Graham Couch

Esther Louise Graham Couch, of Covington, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 1, 2024, at the age of 96. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of over 50 years, Marlin Herschel “Joe” Couch, and her son, Joseph Stephen Couch. Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Janet Couch; grandson, Jesse Couch (Elizabeth), great-granddaughter, Lucy Couch; sister, Jean Lasseter; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and countless other family members and friends whom she loved dearly. 

Esther was known to most as “Essie” or simply “Grandmother.” She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and spent the majority of her life as a homemaker. She was an active member of Starrsville Church for nearly 50 years and her faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was the centerpiece of her life.

She was a very talented cook, painter, artist and decorator, and a skilled gardener. Perhaps her most-loved hobbies were eating at new restaurants and traveling with her family. After her husband Joe retired from Lithonia Lighting, they traveled around the United States in their camper and visited nearly every state of the continental United States. She was a lifelong fan of music, particularly country music, and made regular trips to the Grand Ole Opry. 

Esther will be missed by all who knew her. She was a very special lady who lived a very special life.

Your dedication to her well-being, comfort, and dignity has been a great source of peace to us all.

A Funeral Service for Mrs. Couch will be held Friday, November 8, 2024, 11:00 A.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington. A private interment will be held in Senoia City Cemetery, at a later date. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home Friday, one hour prior to her service, from 10:00 – 11:00 A.M.
