Evelyn Kay Gossage

Evelyn Kay Gossage, of Oxford, passed away Saturday, May 4, 2024, at the age of 75. Ms. Gossage was a faithful member of Allen Memorial United Methodist Church for 42 years. She was an active member of the church where she participated in Vacation Bible School every summer and also helped take care of the children there. Ms. Gossage worked at the Newton County School System in the Special Needs Department and also was a caregiver to children and elders. In her spare time, she enjoyed being an avid reader, doing word search puzzles, and playing Bingo at the senior center. Ms. Gossage liked traveling, going on cruises and especially loved going on family beach trips every summer. In addition, she enjoyed rescuing pets. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thelba and Pearlie Gossage.

Survivors include her siblings, Frank Gossage (Carol), Linda LaPann; nieces, Pam Paulk (Mike), Sandy Dalrymple (Greg), Angie Hearn (Roe), Georgia LaPann; great-nieces and great-nephews, Danial Mar, Michael Mar, Connor Dalrymple, Peyton Dalrymple, Alyssa Hearn, Anna Hearn, Ashley Hearn.

A Funeral Service for Ms. Gossage will be held Friday, May 10, 2024, 3:00 P.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park, in Covington. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home Friday, one hour prior to her service, from 2:00 – 3:00 P.M.
