Finley "Paul" Johnson of Covington, passed away November 10, 2015, at the age of 69. Mr. Johnson was an active member of The Baptist Tabernacle where he drove the bus on Sunday mornings to pick up children for worship. In addition, he sang in the choir and participated in many church plays. Following his honorable service in the Marine Corps during Vietnam, Mr. Johnson joined the National Guard. He made many dear friends during his more than 30 years of service. He was outgoing, kind, and made friends everywhere he went. Mr. Johnson will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband and father and a soldier of the Cross.
Survivors include his wife, Sherleen Johnson; children and their spouses, Paul and Kizzie, Lisha and George, Pariss, Zamire and Kallie, Nadav, Sanaiyah, Saharah, Sierra; beloved grandchildren; sisters and brother-in-law, Jamie Johnson, Catherine and Kenneth Prater; brother, Billy Johnson; nephew, Giovanni Johnson; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Nateesha and Lewis Carr; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Memorial Service for Mr. Johnson will be held Sunday, November 22, 2015, 2:00 PM, at The Baptist Tabernacle, 10119 Access Road, in Covington, with Dr. David Moody officiating.
