Frances Waldrop Lazenby

Frances Waldrop Lazenby of Mansfield passed away April 1, 2013 at Newton Medical Center at 90 years of age. She graduated as Valedictorian from Forest Park School. Mrs. Lazenby loved solving crossword puzzles, reading, and gardening. She was an active member of Mansfield Baptist Church and Mansfield Garden Club. She was also an excellent cook. Mrs. Lazenby was married for more than 61 years to the love of her life, and will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Thomas Lazenby, Jr.; parents Walter Loney (Boone) and Effie (Phillips) Waldrop.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Anne and Roy Allen of Bear Creek, NC; sons, Tommy Lazenby of Atlanta, Jeff Lazenby of Conyers; grandchildren, Katie Williams of Hampstead, NC, Jessica and Aleisha Rucker of Cleveland, Joshua Lazenby of Gainesville; sister and brother-in-law, Ella Ruth and Howard Hunnicutt of Roswell; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service for Mrs. Lazenby will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at Mansfield Baptist Church with Dr. Jeff Perkins officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service, from 10:00 - 11:00 AM.
