Frank East of Social Circle, passed away July 4, 2015, at the age of 78. He was born on February 27, 1937, in Walton County, to the late Hoke and Ruby (Bryant) East. Mr. East proudly served in the US Navy for 3 years. In addition, he owned and operated his own semi-trailer truck prior to working for Eastern Foods, Inc. Mr. East was a member of Sharon Baptist Church in Loganville, GA. He enjoyed fishing, growing Confederate roses and building houses. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Tina Hix; his parents; sister, Louise Winegar; and brothers, William and Henry East.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Shelby J. East; children and spouses, Ruby and Steve Jones of Covington, Shelia and Cary Hawkins of Covington, Susan and Timothy Bell of Rutledge, Chuck and Carrie East of Covington; 11 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; sisters, Sue Pope, Ann Hammonds, Sara Bucklin; brothers, Gene, Jesse, Jerry, Roy East, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mr. East will be held Monday, July 6, 2015, 3:00 PM, at Sharon Baptist Church, 5690 S. Sharon Church Road, Loganville, GA, with Rev. Adam Herrington officiating and interment following in Sharon Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, Sunday, July 5, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to help with funeral expenses.
