Freddie Pfeiffer, of Newborn, passed away Thursday, December 17, 2020, at the age of 68. In a seamless connection between work and passions, Freddie earned a living in the automotive industry and he was a classic car enthusiast. He pursued a side venture in the restaurant business and once owned and operated the Pony Express Diner in Mansfield. All things paled in comparison, though, to his true calling in life – a family man. As a foster parent for 21 years, Freddie provided a home for 197 children, adopting 3 of the children as his own. In the hearts of his friends and family, he was considered jolly in nature and quick to smile. Freddie was preceded in death by his mother, Lounette “Sug” Bishop; father, Fredrick Coleman Pfeiffer; brothers, Glenn Bishop, Dickie Pfeiffer, in addition to infant twin brothers, Jerry and Jim Pfeiffer.
Left to remember Freddie with affection is his wife of 48 years, Betty Pfeiffer; daughters and sons-in-law, Kelly and Rodney Jeffares, Kimberly Holcombe, Tiffany and Michael Anderson, Summer and Eric Blackwell; sons, Scott Pfeiffer, Chris Pfeiffer, David Pfeiffer; grandchildren and spouses, David, Cheyanne and Alan, Ryan, Bill, Chase and LeeAnn, Tom, Pasy, Fred “Storm”, Conner, Makalia, McKenzie; great-grandchildren, Mason, Memphis (soon-to-be); sisters and brothers-in-law, Susan and Harold Huff, Emma Price, Leisa and Keith Howell; brother and sister-in-law, Adrian and Michelle Bishop; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A private memorial service for Freddie will be held at a later date.
