July 22, 1956 — December 25, 2024

Auburn Ga

Gary Lee Thompson, 68, passed away on December 25, 2024, born on July 22, 1956, in Auburn, Alabama, Gary lived a full life characterized by his passion for sports and the simple pleasures of home. Known affectionately as Gary to his friends and family, he was the beloved son of the late Rosa Lee Stephens and William Thompson. Preceded by his sister Debra Stephens, he leaves behind his son and daughter-in-law Chris and Bre Thompson, as well as his brothers and sisters-in-law, Lloyd and Virginia Thompson and David and Kathy Thompson, as well as nieces and nephews. An ardent fan of college football and the Atlanta Braves, Gary found joy in the excitement of the game. His interest in Bigfoot documentaries revealed his curious nature. Occasionally, he relished the thrill of gambling in Cherokee. Those who knew Gary will remember him as an interesting and resourceful man who cherished the comforts of his home. Gary's memory will be treasured as we celebrate a life lived authentically and with enthusiasm. He will be profoundly missed by his family, friends, and all who were fortunate to know him.
