Gene Burgess Brown

Gene Burgess Brown, 85, of Covington, passed away May 31, 2014. He was born February 18, 1929, in Decatur, GA, to the late Paul and Myrtice Brown. Mr. Brown proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. After retiring from Kraft Foods, he was self-employed for many years. Preceding him in death were his wife, Carolyn; sons, Gene, Jr. and Scott; grandson, Casey Lowry; and brother, Jim.

Survivors include his daughter, June Lowry (Joe); special niece and caregiver, Joyce Bradford (Jerry); three grandchildren; one great-grandson; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mr. Brown will be held at 12:30 PM, Thursday, June 5, 2014 at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 3134 Floyd Street, in Covington, with Rev. Jerry Bradford officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service, from 11:30 A.M. - 12:30 P.M. A private interment will follow at Dawn Memorial Park in Decatur.
