Gene Bruce of Greensboro, passed away August 5, 2016, at 77 years of age. Owner and operator of Southeastern Sitecast Co. for 25 years, Mr. Bruce proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He attended Grace Fellowship in Greensboro and enjoyed the time he spent hunting and fishing. Mr. Bruce will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, James William and Winifred (Saxon) Bruce; and eleven siblings.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy Bruce of Greensboro; daughter, Jelene Manders, also of Greensboro; son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Shelly Maughon of Eatonton; grandchildren, Amanda and Rex Stroup, Jacob Manders, Melissa Maughon, Michael Maughon; great-grandchildren, James William Stroup, John Max Wilson, Elijah Marchman; sisters, Jackie Sheriff, Jan Mitchell, both of Conyers; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service for Mr. Bruce will be held Tuesday, August 9, 2016, 2:00 PM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Rev. Ricky Bruce officiating and interment following with military honors in Lawnwood Memorial Park. Friends may join the family for visitation at the funeral home Monday, August 8, 2016 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM. Flowers are accepted or donations in memory of Mr. Bruce may be made to Samaritan's Purse, P.O. Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607.
