George L. Baker of Covington, passed away Monday, January 28, 2013 at the age of 71. He enjoyed reading the newspaper, watching the news, and one of his favorite hobbies was betting on the horses. Mr. Baker also loved to travel and spend time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Baker, and mother, Claris Morgan.
Surviving are his loving wife of 49 years, Enid Baker; daughter, Sharon Baker; son and daughter-in-law, Shaun and Grace Baker; grandchildren, Travis Hemmings, Kamila Hemmings, Racquel Baker, Sheldon Baker, Justin Baker; sisters, Pauline Myers, Primrose Davey, Melva Morgan, Marilyn Morgan; brothers, Canute Baker, Franklin Morgan, Roy Morgan, Roderick Morgan; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mr. Baker will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, February 16, 2013 in the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, February 15, from 6:00 - 9:00 P.M.
