George W. Cox

George W. Cox of Social Circle, passed away Friday, April 14, 2017, at the age of 77. A resident of Social Circle since 1974, Mr. Cox was a devoted family man who loved being outdoors. Driving his truck, riding motorcycles, camping or fishing were just a few of the ways he spent time outside. He also enjoyed training and riding horses. Mr. Cox was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Dorothy Cox; and brother, James Richard Cox.

Survivors include his loving wife of 34 years, Susan Cox; daughters, Karen Kimble of Oxford, Anita Cox of Social Circle; son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Bernadette Wilkerson of Lexington, SC; grandchildren, Charles Kimble and wife, Ashley, of Oxford, Randy Wilkerson of Lexington, SC, Lenora Wilkerson of Lexington, SC, Jazmine Fick, Dakota Fick, both of Social Circle; great-grandson, Wyatt Kimble of Oxford; and several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held Monday, April 17, 2017, 3:00 PM, at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Pastor Brad Rutledge and Pastor Tim Walden officiating. Friends may visit with his family at the funeral home, Saturday, April 15, 2017 from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM.
