George W. Dunn, Jr.

George W. Dunn, Jr. of Covington, passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2020, at the age of 88. An overall great man, Mr. Dunn loved his Lord and was a member of Assembly of God Tabernacle. He liked being outside whether he was hunting or fishing, coaching baseball, or working in his garden during the summer. Mr. Dunn also enjoyed watching the Gaither’s Vocal Band and listening to Gospel music. He was a loving husband and father who cared for his family dearly and loved hugging his grandchildren every chance that he could. Mr. Dunn was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Edna Dunn; parents, George Washington, Sr., and Ruby Dunn.

Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Sherry Dunn, Eddie and Connie Dunn, Jerry and Lisa Dunn; Grandchildren and their spouses, Matthew and Amanda Dunn, Tara and Brent Ingram, Stephen and Amanda Dunn, Joshua Dunn, Katie Dunn, Jeremy and Missy Dunn, Jonathan and Rachel Dunn; great-grandchildren, Spencer Dunn, Isaac Dunn, Lincoln Ingram, Landon Dunn, Emily Dunn, Jadon Dunn, Judah Dunn, Jordan Dunn, Lennox Grace Dunn; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service for Mr. Dunn will be held Monday, December 28, 2020, 12 Noon, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Pastor Jeremy Dunn and Pastor Tim Hogg officiating and interment following in College Park Cemetery, 3600 North Adams, in College Park. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home, two hours prior to his service, from 10:00 A.M. – 12 Noon.

CDC guidelines recommend social distancing (6 feet apart) and wearing of masks while in public.  Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home requests that you observe these recommendations while in our funeral home attending visitations and/or services.  In addition, gatherings are limited to 50 persons or less in our facility at one time.  Please honor these restrictions for the safety of the family, yourself, and our staff.
