George Lawrence Mitcham

Access RoadGeorge Lawrence Mitcham of Conyers, passed away October 9, 2012, at the age of 88. Mr. Mitcham was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served his country proudly during World War II. He worked his entire career for John Deere Company, and retired after 34 years of service. He enjoyed gardening and collecting antiques. Mr. Mitcham loved his family and spending time at the farm where he was raised. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Madison and Bessie (Sammons) Mitcham; 5 brothers and sisters. Survivors include his loving wife, Betty Cowan Mitcham; sons, Coy Mitcham, Alvin Mitcham, all of Conyers; grandson, Adam Mitcham, and his wife, Anna of Atlanta; several nieces and nephews.A Graveside Service for Mr. Mitcham will be held Thursday, October 11, 2012, 3:00 PM, at Lawnwood Memorial Park, in Covington, with Rev. Mike Nickolich officiating. The family will receive friends at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, one hour prior to the service, from 2:00-3:00 PM.
