George Southard,

Mr. George Southard, Jr. of Decatur, GA. passed away January 30, 2010 at Vista Care Center at the age of 82. He was born in Buffalo, N.Y. and served as a police officer with precinct #16, retiring after twenty years of service. Mr. Southard enjoyed gardening and will be greatly missed by his family. He is preceded in death by his parents George Edward, Sr. and Florence J. (Hass) Southard, and his wife of 56 years, Virginia Lee Anglin Southard.
Mr. Southard is survived by his sister, Carol McMurray of Buffalo, N.Y; niece, Bonnie Grasser of Angola, N.Y.; nephew, Bobby McMurray of North Carolina; great-niece, Denise Grasser of Key West, FL.; numerous nieces, nephews and brother-in-laws all of Atlanta, GA.
Graveside services for Mr. Southard will be held Monday, January 31, 2010, 4:00 P.M. at Lawnwood Memorial Park in Covington, GA.
