Geraldine Coady Smallwood

Geraldine Coady Smallwood, of Porterdale, passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at the age of 86. Mrs. Smallwood was born in Porterdale and loved her birthplace. She was family oriented and enjoyed attending her nieces and nephews’ parties. When she wasn’t spending time with her family, she enjoyed reading and sewing. Mrs. Smallwood was preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Bertha Coady; sister, Frances Lindsey, brother, Howard “Sonny” Coady; and nephew, Teddy Piper.

Survivors include her sister, Mary Lee Brooks; sister-in-law, Jordye Coady; nieces and nephews, Scott Hailey (Barbara), Robin Lamb, Johnny Hailey (Ivy), Stacey Coady, James Hailey (Pam), Donna Coe (Steve); as well as several great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.

A Graveside Service for Mrs. Smallwood will be held Saturday, May 14, 2022, 11:00 A.M., at Lawnwood Memorial Park, 1111 Access Road, in Covington, with Pastor Danny Sorrells officiating. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the cemetery, prior to her service, from 10:30 – 11:00 A.M.
