Gladys Ellis of Oxford, passed away January 4, 2015, at the age of 82. Mrs. Ellis enjoyed crocheting, listening to gospel music, cooking and watching wrestling and older game shows. She adored her family, enjoyed taking care of them and especially cherished the time she spent with her great-grandchildren, Devon and Ryan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton "Shorty" Ellis; and her parents, Willis and Ella Mae (Roberson) Jay.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Frankie Puckett; son and daughter-in-law, Don and Angie Ellis, all of Covington; grandchildren, Chris and Rebecca Braswell of Oxford, Jimbo and Heather Sorrows of Covington, Crystal Ellis of Conyers, Brandon Ellis of Jefferson, Benson Lane, Jason Lane, both of Covington; 14 great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Mildred and Glenn Stephens; brother, Lynn Jay; sister-in-law, Betty Jay; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Ellis will be held Thursday, January 8, 2015, 2:00 PM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Rev. Jack Perrin officiating and interment following in Corinth Memorial Gardens, in Loganville. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, January 7, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM.
