Gladys Eva Smith

Access RoadGladys Eva Smith of Oxford, passed away April 28, 2012, at the age of 83. Ms. Smith attended Gaithers United Methodist Church and Central Community Church. She was dedicated to her family, and was a wonderful and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. Ms. Smith was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Rosalee (Bearden) Smith; sister, Virginia Kursaitis; and her brother, Cecil Robert Smith.Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Linda D. and Ronald Hill of Lilburn, Pamela L. and Larry Mayfield of Social Circle; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert G. Poole, Sr., of Eatonton, Jerry D. and Judy Poole of Demorest, GA, Charles M. and Carol Poole of Oxford; sister and brother-in-law, Wanda and Kenneth New of Tampa, FL; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Ms. Smith will be held Tuesday, May 1, 2012, 2:00 PM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Pastor Darrell Allen officiating, and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, April 30, from 6:00-8:00 PM.
