Harold Heard

Harold Heard of Social Circle, passed away Wednesday, May 16, 2017, at the age of 94. For 66 years, Mr. Heard was married to Iva Jean - the love of his life. He was retired from Eastern Airlines, where he worked for over 30 years. Mr. Heard was known to be a true southern gentleman and humble in nature. A devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather, he played an important role in the lives of those he loved dearly. Whether camping, fishing, or working in his garden, he relished being outdoors. Mr. Heard was preceded in death by his wife, Iva Jean Heard; parents, William Arthur and Addie Mae Heard; one sister; and five brothers.

Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and George Pittman of Social Circle, Iva and James Roberts of Manchester, GA; grandchildren and spouses, Amy and David Head, Chris and Stacy Pittman, Greg and Allison Pittman, Tom and Teri Howard; great-grandchildren, John Howard, Mark Howard, Eli Head, Jacob Head, Cooper Pittman, Conner Pittman, Ryker Pittman, Tucker Pittman, Sawyer Pittman; and sister, Sara Stallings of Whitesburg, GA.

A Funeral Service for Mr. Heard will be held Sunday, May 21, 2017, 2:00 PM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Rev. Dr. Douglas Gilreath officiating and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home one and a half hours prior to his service, from 12:30 PM - 2:00 PM.
