Harry Lee Lindsey, born in Atlanta, GA on February 23, 1944 to Walker Obie Lindsey and Mary Elizabeth (Cox) Lindsey passed away peacefully in his home on May 18, 2017, at the age of 73. By his bedside was his wife of 50 years, Jacquelyn Ruth (Latham) Lindsey, and their daughter, Jennifer Lindsey Sunderland. He is also survived by his son-in-law, J Robert Sunderland and two grandchildren, Abigail and Luke, of Marietta, GA; sister, Alice Jones and brother-in-law, Mike Jones of Monroe, GA; sister, Laura Mitchell of Covington, Ga; sister Sherry Sharpe of Milledgeville, GA; and brother Robert Lindsey and sister-in-law Donna Lindsey of Monroe, Ga. Harry is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Helen Forman of Biloxi, Mississippi; brother, Obie Wilson of Social Circle, GA; and twin brother, Larry Lindsey of Social Circle, GA
Harry graduated from Social Circle High School and joined the Army in 1963 where he served three years in the 82nd Airborne Division the first 504. He received an associate degree from DeKalb College. He re-enlisted in the Army National Guard Aviation Battalion as a tactical observer for 12 years; joined the Air Guard as a civil engineer for eight years; and retired as a Master Sergeant, with a total of 25 years of service. Concurrently, Harry worked 35 years for Georgia Power Company where he retired as a Methods and Training Specialist. All the while, Harry stayed active in the community and is a former president and vice-president of the Rockdale County Conyers Lion Club. He is a past recipient of the R.W. Scherer Award from Southern Company for his community service record. In retirement, he served as president of Georgia Power Athens Chapter Ambassadors and vice-president of Conyers Citizens of Georgia Power. He was an active member of Smyrna Presbyterian Church where he served on the Property Management Committee.
Funeral Services will be held at Smyrna Presbyterian Church, 2920 GA-212, Conyers, GA on May 22, 2017 at 3:00 PM, with Rev. George Rogers officiating. Prior to the service, family will receive friends from 1:30 - 3:00 PM, in the Narthex of the church. Burial to follow service at Lawnwood Memorial Park in Covington, GA.

Harry is now with his Savior, Jesus, in heaven and will be missed greatly by his friends and family until we meet again.
