Hazel Eugenia Roseberry Hood, age 85, of Porterdale, passed away on February 10, 2011, at Panama City Nursing Center in Panama City, Florida. She was the daughter of the late William W. and Estelle L. Roseberry of Covington. Mrs. Hood was an active participant at the senior citizens center in Covington, and spent many years enjoying various social activities there with her friends and family. She also liked word-find puzzles and television game shows until she succumbed to the effects of Alzheimers. She never met a stranger, and will be missed by many. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Aavon and Ozell Gunn of Parker, Florida; her son, William M. (Bud) Roseberry of Porterdale; and her daughter, Patricia (Carol) Countryman of Melbourne, Florida; 9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild on the way; and her loving sister, Mildred L. Morrow of Porterdale. She was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Hood; brothers, Raymon and Billy R. Roseberry; and children, Donita Estelle Janvary and John E. Keith Janvary. Funeral Services for Mrs. Hood will be held at 11:30 AM, Wednesday, February 16, 2011, at the Access Road Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, Covington, with Rev. James A. Moore of Julia A. Porter United Methodist Church, officiating. Committal service will follow at Liberty Cemetery in Porterdale. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home from 10:30 until 11:30 AM.
