Henry Lanier Shropshire, of Covington, passed away Friday, September 30, 2022, at the age of 63. Lanier was employed with Hercules for over 30 years. He played football in his younger years and loved watching games in his spare time. Lanier was an avid train collector and enjoyed listening to all kinds of music. He loved to joke with everyone and never met a stranger. Lanier liked cooking and going out to eat with his loved ones. He adored his family and treasured spending time with his grandchildren. Lanier was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Joann Shropshire; mother, Frances Ellene Parker; and father, Henry Bruce Shropshire.
He is survived by his sons, Carey Shropshire (Holly), Dustin Shropshire (Kembri); grandchildren, Perry Chance, Wyatt Timms, Draven Shropshire; sister, Tonya J. Dominy (Lynne); brothers, Wayne Houseman (Georgia), Ricky Houseman, Earl Houseman, David Houseman; sister-in-law, Joyce Barber; and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life for Lanier will be held Monday, October 3, 2022, 11:30 A.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Pastor Terry Casper officiating. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home one and a half hours prior to his service from 10:00 – 11:30 A.M.
