Access RoadHerbert Tucker of Covington, passed away April 23, 2012, at the age of 79. He retired from American General Life Insurance Company, after 15 years of dedicated service. Mr. Tucker was owner and operator of Tucker Battery (The Battery Man). He enjoyed fishing, singing, and playing the guitar. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Louise Tucker; daughter, Lisa Renee Tucker; parents, Jessie L. and Mary (Sanders) Tucker; and his brother, Cecil Tucker. Survivors include his wife, Geneva O. Tucker; daughter and son-in-law, Joy and Tommy Parker; sons and daughter-in-law, Lanny and Laura Tucker, all of Covington, Scott Tucker of Porterdale; 4 step-children, Donna and Wayne Headrick of Rabun County, Kay and Andrew Morris of Conyers, Danny Turner, Keith Turner, both of Covington; 6 grandchildren, Jason and Amy Parker, Shannon and Brenda Tucker, Renee and John Henderson, Jeremy Tucker, Brittany and Zack Hilty, Devin Tucker; 9 great-grandchildren, Anbri, Meredith, Natalie, Ava, Kennedy, Gavin, Colt, Chance and Mason; 12 step-grandchildren; 14 step-great- grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Curtis and Mary Tucker of Jasper County; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.Funeral Services for Mr. Tucker will be held Thursday, April 26, 2012, 2:00 PM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Pastor Mike Franklin officiating, and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, April 25, from 5:00 - 8:00 PM.
