Hilda Vaughn, of Covington, passed away February 3, 2015, at the age of 87. Mrs. Vaughn enjoyed traveling, especially to Disney World, swimming, and going to yard sales. She loved sunflowers and cooking for her family. Mrs. Vaughn adored her family and cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Julian Carroll Vaughn and her parents, George Clifford and Leila (Armistead) Malcolm.

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Larry Smith of Flovilla, Alicia and Edwin Allen of Mansfield, Melissa and Eric McCarthy of Loganville; sons and daughters-in-law, George and Theresa Vaughn of McDonough, Julian and Louise Vaughn of Covington, Glenn Vaughn of Lilburn, Bryan and Vicky Vaughn of Brunswick; 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Martha Malcolm of Covington; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Vaughn will be held Friday, February 6, 2015, 2:00 PM, at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Rev. Wilson Wallace officiating and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Thursday, February 5, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. Flowers are accepted or memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity.
