Hollis Eugene Smith, age 69, went home to be with our Lord on February 16, 2015, after a battle with kidney failure and other health issues. Hollis was born June 22, 1945, to the late Earl and Vida Mae Smith of Clinton, TN. He attended Clinton High School before enlisting in the Marine Corps. Hollis was a Vietnam veteran and always very proud to be a Marine.

Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Geneva of Murrells Inlet, SC, where they lived; son, Hollis Smith, Jr. of Decatur; sisters and brother-in-law, Betty and Bobby Bennett, Sue Richards, all of Covington; brother, Michael Smith; adopted brother, Randy Smith, both of Myrtle Beach, SC; step-son, Johnny Braden and his wife Jody; step-grandsons, Jesse and Sam; step-granddaughter, Sadie Braden, all of Conway, SC; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and his beloved pets who will all miss him dearly.

Funeral Services for Mr. Smith will be held Friday, February 20, 2015, 2:00 PM, at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Rev. Tom Lee and Pastor Stan Patterson officiating. Interment will follow in Green Meadow Memorial Gardens, 677 Legion Drive, Conyers, GA 30012. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, February 19, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM.
