Hubert Hugh Ray

Hubert Hugh Ray, of Covington, passed away Friday, May 27, 2022, at the age of 83. Mr. Ray was a proud patriot; serving honorably in the United States Army and received many awards throughout his military career. He enjoyed all kinds of sports and was an avid Georgia Tech and Atlanta Braves fan. Mr. Ray was a kind man with a gentle soul and was admired by many as a role model. He took great pride in teaching his children about life and how to fix things. Mr. Ray cherished his grandchildren dearly and will be missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his wife, Loretta Ray; granddaughter, Emily Stevenson; parents, Hubert Clayton and Irene Loggins Ray; sisters, Frances Williams, Eva Ray , Dorothy Chastain, Juanita Gilmore; brothers, Charles Ray, Glen Loggins.

He is survived by his companion, Betty Anderson; daughter, Lorie Reid (Daniel); son, Clayton Ray (Lisa); grandchildren, Tyler Stevenson, Kenneth Clayton Ray, Abbygale Ray, Hunter Stevenson, Della Ray, Daniel Reid, Jr., Angel Reid, Harley Ray, Zander Ray, Freya Ray, Everley Ray; and sister, Louise Erickson.

A Funeral Service for Mr. Ray will be held Friday, June 3, 2022, 12:00 Noon, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Pastor Ron Compton officiating and interment following in Fairview Memorial Gardens, 164 Fairview Road, in Stockbridge. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home on Thursday, June 2, 2022, from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M.
