Inez Fletcher, of Covington, passed away peacefully Monday, August 22, 2022, at her residence surrounded by family, at the age of 95. Mrs. Fletcher was deeply rooted in her home country of Jamaica where she was an active member of Ocho Rios Baptist Church and The Jamaica Burial Scheme Society. She was a Jamaican Canadian Ambassador, a mother to many, a self-made businesswoman, and an avid flower lover. Mrs. Fletcher was preceded in death by her husband, Aston George Fletcher; granddaughters, Laura Cummings, Alphia Christie; parents, William and Gladys Nelson; 17 siblings.
Survivors include her daughters, Beverly Allen (Henry), Jennifer Cummings (Kismet), Antonette Fletcher-Smallhorn (Brenton), Mitsy Fletcher; sons, Luther Christie, Winston Christie (Pamela), Anthony Fletcher (Sharon), Kenneth Fletcher; 30 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service for Mrs. Fletcher will be held Sunday, August 28, 2022, 2:00 P.M. at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Minister Garette Christie officiating and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home, one hour prior to her service, from 1:00 – 2:00 P.M.
