Irene Alvera Siegel, 95, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2013, at The Newton Medical Center in Covington, Georgia, with her daughter, Linda, by her side. Irene was born July 5, 1918, in Casella, Ohio, to Henry and Anna Ahrens-Strukamp.
She was married to the late Nicholas Siegel and had 8 children. Longtime resident of Brighton, Michigan, and owner of the Brighton Live Bait Center from 1963-1970.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nicholas Siegel; sons, John Siegel, Kenneth Siegel; daughter, Mary Challancin; grandson, Ronald Noonan; great-grandson, Ryan Lucas; and longtime companion, Merritt Lane. She is survived by her children, Lavern "Bud" (Mary) Siegel, Delores Schoolman, Carol (Ken) Graham, Linda (Donald) Langley and Leroy (Marilyn) Siegel as well as 18 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great grandchildren.
No services will be held per Irene's request. Final resting place will be beside her beloved husband, Nicholas, in Brighton, Michigan, at a later determined date.
