Jack S. Christian of Covington died April 4, 2011, at Abbey Hospice in Social Circle. A native of Newton County, he was the son of the late Travis and Euphie Lunsford Christian. Mr. Christian was employed by White's Enterprises for 36 years, was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, and had served as a member of the Newton County Board of Zoning Appeals for a number of years. He was also a member of Fort Barrington Hunting and Fishing on the Altamaha River, Masonic Golden Fleece Lodge No. 6, and a member and past president of the Covington Rotary Club.
Surviving are his children, Warren and Colleen Christian of Oxford, Danny and Jan (Christian) Neal of Covington, Dwain Christian of Ouray, CO; daughter-in-law, Ellen Loskoski of Townsend; grandchildren, Christian Bennett, Dallas Christian, Ryan Bennett, Luke Christian; great-grandchildren, Austin Bennett, Allison Bennett; sister, Louise Mobley of Oxford; brother, Glenn Christian of Conyers; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mr. Christian will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, April 6, 2011, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, Covington, with Rev. Rob Langford and Rev. W. A. Childers, Jr., officiating, and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home, 1215 Access Road, Tuesday evening, April 5, from 6 to 8 PM.
