Jack Melvin

Access RoadJack Melvin of Covington, passed away April 16, 2012, at the age of 79. He enjoyed sports, traveling, gambling, and going to Biloxi. Mr. Melvin loved his grandchildren dearly, and enjoyed spending time with them. He was preceded in death by his son, Greg Bowen; and his parents, Walter and Nellie (Crutchfield) Melvin. Survivors include his wife, Shelia Diane Melvin of Covington; children, Andrea Mills, Suzanne Birdsong, Dawn Melvin, Kevin Melvin, Brian Melvin, Terri Davis, Todd Bowen; grandchildren, Mourad Bowen, Rory Bowen, David Christopher Bowen, Tyler Davis, Trevor Davis, Nick Bowen, Trent Bowen, Lane Bowen; great-grandchildren, Canaan Bowen, Abram Bowen, Nia Bowen, and David Bowen.Funeral Services for Mr. Melvin will be held Friday, April 20, 2012, 2:00 PM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, April 19, from 5:00-8:00 PM.
