Access RoadJack Rickman of Conyers, passed away October 4, 2011, at the age of 75. Mr. Rickman was a 20 year veteran of the United States Navy, and served in the Vietnam War. He was a member of Harvest Baptist Church, in Covington, and loved his church family dearly. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, and preparing and selling firewood. Mr. Rickman is loved, and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Edwin and Sarah Caroline (Dills) Rickman; and brothers, Bill Rickman and Tom Rickman.
Survivors include his wife, Sylvia Rickman of Conyers, daughters and sons-in-law, Lynn and Ty Harmon, Rita Smith, Cindy and Greg Speer, all of Covington, Amanda and Marlon Pollard of Newborn; son and daughter-in-law, Dale and Tracie Rickman of Chattanooga, TN; 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Helen Rickman of Wilmont, NC; sisters and brothers-in-law, Carolyn and Johnny Lewis, Jean and Steve Worley, all of Sylva, NC, half-sister, Geneva Giles of Troutville, VA, several nieces and nephews.Funeral Services for Mr. Rickman will be held Friday, October 7, 2011, 2:00 PM, at Harvest Baptist Church, with Rev. Richard Culpepper officiating, and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, Thursday, October 6, from 6-9 PM.
