Jacqueline Bower Mitchell

Access RoadJacqueline Bower Mitchell, 59, of Covington, Georgia died peacefully surrounded by her loved ones after a long battle with pancreatic cancer on Monday, September 26, 2011. While primarily a homemaker and mother of two daughters, she held clerical positions at both Mobil Chemical and Atlanta Cutlery. She enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, sunbathing at the beach, and riding motorcycles with her best friend, soul mate, and devoted husband, Terry Wayne Mitchell. She is preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Inez Eaton of Parkersburg, West Virginia.Jackie is survived by her husband, Wayne; two daughters, Janice Dukes of Monroe, Danelle Bower of Covington; son-in-law, Mark Dukes; three grandsons, Jacob Dukes, Lucas Dukes and his bride, Austyn, and Brady Bower McElroy; mother-in-law, Julie Mitchell, and her sister, Betty Anderson; brother-in-law, Steve Mitchell and his wife, Carla; sister-in-law, Barbara Hunt. In addition to her husband and children, Jackie leaves behind a loving sister, Carolyn Miller; aunt, Lois Wilson; former husband, Bob Bower, special daughter by proxy, Tanya Lingner; other special friends, Betty Bower, Drusilla and Roger Exline, Anne and Rich McFee, Julie and Jeffrey Deushel.Jackie's passing is also mourned by many loving family members from her hometown of Parkersburg, West Virginia, including 5 sisters, 3 brothers, and numerous nieces and nephews.The family is grateful she is in heaven with her parents; sister, Louise Sandman; and former father-in-law, Eugene Bower. In addition, the family is also grateful for the love and support given to their mother by Tanya Lingner, Abbey Hospice personnel, and Carolyn Miller during her illness. We also want to thank all of our wonderful friends and family for their words of encouragement, thoughts, and prayers.Funeral Services for Jackie will be held Thursday, September 29, 2011, 6:00 PM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, September 28, from 5-8 PM.
