Jacquelyn "Jackie" Jones Wood

Jacquelyn (Jackie) Jones Wood of Covington, passed away September 7, 2013 at her daughter's home in Cumming. She was 70 years of age at the time of her death. Mrs. Wood was a loving wife and mother who loved and enjoyed her grandchildren. It could be said she was a full-time grandmother. She was a member of Covington First United Methodist Church. She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed playing bridge with her friends. Mrs. Wood was preceded in death by her parents, Chester Harwell and Hazel (McClure) Jones; and her brother, James Harwell Jones.

Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Don Wood, of Covington; children, Kristie Dame and her husband Chris of Cumming and their children Jacquelyn, Benton, and Julianne; Jim Wood and his wife Claire of Huntsville, AL and their children Joy and Callie; Don Wood III and his wife Debbie of Alpharetta and their children Anna, Emma, and Marion; niece Angela Gilmer.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Wood will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, September 10, at Covington First United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Douglas Gilreath, Rev. Jan McCoy, and Larry Parnell officiating. Interment will follow in Starrsville Methodist Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, Monday, September 9, from 6:00 - 9:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial donations be made to Mansfield United Methodist Church, 3031 N. Main Street, Mansfield, GA 30055.
