Access RoadJames Joseph (J.J.) Anglin, III, 79, passed away with dignity at Emory University Hospital, July 8, 2011, after a year-long battle with cancer. A native of Atlanta, James served in the Marine Corps and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was proud of his affiliation with the Marine Corps and his service to the United States. Continuing his life of service, James was a Decatur Firefighter, during the 1950's; and served as a Captain with the DeKalb County Police Department, retiring with 25 years of service. He was a great man, and will be missed by his family and friends. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Jean Anglin; daughter, Angela Anglin, both of Tucker; sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Marlene Anglin of Canton, Mitch and Phyllis Anglin of Decatur, Joey and Kathy Anglin of Flowery Branch; brothers and sisters-in-law, Clifford and Pat Anglin of Woodstock, Earl and Dolly Anglin of Newborn; 3 grandchildren, Ashley Anglin, Gabriel Anglin, Grant Anglin; numerous nieces and nephews.A Graveside Service for Mr. Anglin will be held Tuesday, July 12, 2011, 1:00 PM, at Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, Sunday, July 10, from 2-4 PM.
