James O. Ashworth,

Access RoadJames O. Ashworth, Jr., of Social Circle, died March 8, 2010, at Newton Medical Center, at the age of 78. Son of the late James O., Sr. and Elizabeth Henderson Ashworth, he retired from Ford Motor Company after 33 years of service and enjoyed square dancing, golf, and camping. Survivors include his wife, Joyce Ashworth of Social Circle; daughter, Saralyn A. Thomas of Pendergrass; sons, Robert J. Ashworth of Lynchburg, VA and Jerry Ashworth of Alexandria, VA; grandchildren, Richard Thomas, Elizabeth Ashworth, Emily Ashworth, Julia Ashworth, Sydney Ashworth; great-grandchildren, Ella Thomas, Eva Thomas;  sister, Ann Anderson of Conley; half brother, Gene Waldrip of Snellville; step brother, Bill Waldrip of Tucker. A Memorial Service for Mr. Ashworth will be held Friday March 12, 1:00 PM, at First Presbyterian Church of Covington, with Rev. Billy Wade officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Lung Association, 2452 Spring Road, Smyrna, GA 30080.
