James Buford Burnette

Access RoadJames Buford Burnette of Atlanta, passed away August 9, 2011, at the age of 80. Mr. Burnette served as an Intelligence Office in the Air Force during the Korean conflict. He enjoyed crossword puzzles, Nascar, watching sports, and coaching little league. Mr. Burnette was a very social person who never met a stranger. He loved his family dearly, and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Derwood and Kathleen (Chittum) Burnette.Survivors include his sons and daughter-in-law, Charles Burnette, David and Beverly Burnette, all of Covington; 7 grandchildren; sister, Martha Krause of Richmond, VA; several nieces and nephews.Memorial Services for Mr. Burnette will be held Friday, August 12, 2011, 11:00 AM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, with Pastor Nolan Jackson officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, August 11, from 6-9 PM.
