James Hicks Evans

Access RoadJames Hicks Evans, of Conroe, Texas, passed away on November 12, 2012. Jim was born on January 16, 1960, to Guy and Rebecca Evans of Covington. He graduated from George Walton Academy in 1978. Jim served five years in the U.S. Navy. Jim's childhood was spent involved in activities with First Baptist Church in Covington, and playing little league ball. At the time of his death, he was living in Conroe, Texas, where he had been in declining health for the past few years. Jim was preceded in death by his father, Guy V. Evans.Jim is survived by his mother, Rebecca H. Evans of Covington, and his daughter, Chantal Evans of San Diego, California; his wife, Barbara, of Conroe, Texas, and her children, Kelly, Kim, and Donnie; sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Cliff Blanchard of St. Cloud, FL; brother and sister-in-law, Vince and Cyndi Evans of Conyers; as well as several nieces and nephews.Funeral Services for James will be held Friday, November 16, 2012, 2:00 PM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Rev. Jack Wilson officiating, and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, one hour prior to the service, from 1:00-2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, 1139 Usher Street NE, Covington, GA 30014.
