James Walsingham

James Walsingham, of Oxford, passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2022, at the age of 85. Mr. Walsingham was a devout Christian and member of Shiloh United Methodist Church. He enjoyed working with his hands and was very patriotic in nature. Mr. Walsingham was a humble man who never met a stranger and gave the best hugs. He cherished spending time with his beloved family and adored his wife with all his heart. Mr. Walsingham, in his words, was “always just right”. He was preceded in death by his sons, James H. Walsingham, Jr.; John Edward Walsingham; parents, James Edward and Arvie Walsingham; 1 sister; and 2 brothers.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Marlene Walsingham; daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Mike Jones; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and daughters-in-law, Julie Walsingham, Cindy Walsingham.

A Funeral Service for Mr. Walsingham will be held Saturday, August 20, 2022, 11:00 A.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Rev. Mike Wadley officiating and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home on Friday, August 19, 2022, from 5:30 – 8:00 P.M.
