James Lewis Wofford Sr.

James Lewis Wofford, better known as James Lewis to his friends and loved ones, departed this life at the age of 83 on the last day of the year, December 31, 2023. Born on July 21, 1940, in Rome, Georgia, James was a dedicated family man and always embodying the virtues of kindness, generosity, and friendliness. Preceding him in passing were his beloved parents, Albert John and Mary Frances Hoffman, his wife, Patricia Wofford, and his sister, Joanie Echols.

James grew into a man of great character, one who would eventually become not just a parent, but a best friend to his son, Jimmy Wofford. His legacy continues through his adoring grandchildren, Michael and Kim Wofford, and his great-grandchildren, Zak Wofford, Mason Price, Liam Wofford, and Raelyn Wofford. He is survived by his loving sisters, Wanda Byrd, Charlotte Wilborn, and Kathy Wyckoff, along with several cherished nieces and nephews.

Professionally, James was a dedicated worker at Dixie Membrane Roofing where he took pride in his work. His approach was straightforward, and his work ethic unwavering—an embodiment of his very kind heart.

James Lewis Wofford's memory will be treasured and kept alive not only in the projects he completed and the company he kept but more so in the hearts of those he touched with his radiant spirit. He will be profoundly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

A Memorial Service for Mr. Wofford will be held Sunday, January 7, 2024, 12:00 P.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell and Cowan Funeral home 1215 Access Road Covington Ga 30014.
