Janet Harper

Janet Harper, of Oxford, passed away Friday, September 27, 2024, at the age of 79. Mrs. Harper was a wonderful mom and was the rock of the family. She took great pride in her children, and grandchildren whom she loved dearly. Mrs. Harper was compassionate and caring and loved her fur babies. She also had a great sense of humor and was sometimes dry but always made people smile and had a wonderful heart. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Vernon Harper; granddaughter, Kelly Marshall; parents, Oliver Lee and Marguerite Marie Mason; and brother, Oliver Lee Mason, Jr. 

Survivors include her daughter, Kyle Poteet; son, Larry Atkins; grandchildren, Shea Atkins, Justin Atkins, Lindsey Hewell, Jacee Poteet; great-grandchildren, Haley Stevenson, Brooklyn Spear, Larra Hewell, Savannah Hewell, Drake Atkins, Jordan Perry, Jadenn Perry, Jayla Marshall, Traylen Marshall; great-great-grandchild, Lelani Stevenson; and sister, Tresa Lingler (Art).

A Funeral Service for Mrs. Harper will be held Tuesday, October 1, 2024, 11:00 A.M. at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home Tuesday, one hour prior to her service, from 10:00 – 11:00 A.M.
