Janice Ellis

Janice Ellis of Oxford, passed away November 28, 2019, at the age of 74. Kindhearted and a caregiver to many, Mrs. Ellis was known as "Mama Janice" to many. In her spare time, she enjoyed camping with her loved ones. Mrs. Ellis loved her family, church family and the children she kept throughout the years dearly and will be missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lacey Ellis; parents, Grover Cleveland "Snooks" and Mureen Young; sister, Joyce Morton.

Survivors include her loving husband, Gary Ellis; daughters and sons-in-law, Susann and Scott Whittle, Beverly and Ricky Knight, Diana and Jerry Martin; son, Chuck Ellis; grandchildren, Camp Coleman, Anna Whittle, Abby Whittle, Kimberly and Greg Pitts, Ricky, Jr., and Lauren Knight, Kandace Knight, Frannie Martin, Jake Martin; sister and brother-in-law, Freida and Jimmy Pitts; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service for Mrs. Ellis will be held Sunday, December 1, 2019, 2:00 P.M., at Covington Mill United Methodist Church, 6154 Collins Street NE, in Covington, with Pastor Norman Cox officiating. The family will receive friends at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, Saturday, November 30, from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. Flowers are accepted, or donations may be made to Covington Mill United Methodist Church, 6154 Collins Street NE, Covington, GA 30014.
