Janice Emma Queen, of Covington, passed away Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at the age of 76. Mrs. Queen retired from Hercules after 30 years of employment. She enjoyed doing crafts and making dolls out of mop heads. She made Santa and Mrs. Claus dolls, and even rocking chairs for them to sit in. Mrs. Queen loved flowers and the outdoors. She cherished the time spent with her family and visiting with them. Mrs. Queen was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Joe Queen; grandson, Adrian Wilcox; parents, Elizabeth and Jones W. Stapp; and sister, Dean Smith.
She is survived by her daughter, Stacy Hooten (Jody Lacky); sons, Ronnie Hooten (Angelle Blaske), Reggie Hooten (Star); grandchildren, Aaron Wilcox, Alexis Gomolski, Anna Roth, Ariel Morey, Adam Hooten, Jennifer Hooten, Brittany Moore, Serenity Moore; great-grandchildren, Cooper Roth, Ava Roth; sister, Treasey McDaniel; numerous nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Lucy, and the company she gave.
A Memorial Service for Mrs. Queen will be held Saturday, January 22, 2022, 2:00 P.M., at Memory Chapel Mausoleum in Lawnwood Memorial Park, 1111 Access Road, in Covington, with Pastor Gene Acker officiating.
